Terms of Service

These Terms govern use of Best Icons and purchases made through the service. The provider and contracting party is [full registered company name and legal form], [registered address] (“Best Icons,” “we,” or “us”).

Company and contact details are available in the Imprint. If you purchase as a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business.

Best Icons provides a public search interface for a fixed catalogue of 273,335 open-source SVG files. Search results, filters, icon previews, individual SVG and PNG exports, and license information are available without an account.

Registered users may purchase a versioned download package containing the SVG catalogue, curated English keyword records, data exports, license information, and documentation described on the Pricing page. V1 does not include user uploads, favourites, hosted API endpoints, or multi-user team accounts. A Pro Unlimited order may include rights to integrate the delivered source and metadata into the purchaser’s own product or API as described below.

You must provide accurate account information, keep access credentials confidential, and promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

Do not share an account in a way that circumvents the intended purchase model, probe or bypass access controls, interfere with the service, or use automated traffic that materially degrades availability for others.

Package purchases are one-time payments, not subscriptions. The current package version, contents, currency, and price are displayed before checkout. The final checkout summary controls if an earlier page contains an obvious display error.

Stripe processes payment. An order is complete after Stripe confirms successful payment and Best Icons records the purchase. We may refuse or reverse a transaction where reasonably necessary to address fraud, duplicate processing, or a technical pricing error, subject to mandatory consumer law.

After successful payment, the purchased package appears in your account. Download requests generate a time-limited private link. Link expiry does not remove the purchase; you may request a fresh link and re-download the purchased package version at any time while the service operates.

The verified v1 archive is 278,202,281 bytes (approximately 265 MiB). A future rebuilt archive may differ slightly while retaining the stated contents. You are responsible for a compatible device, software, connection, and sufficient storage.

A purchase covers the version named at checkout. It does not automatically include future major package versions unless the offer expressly says so.

Payment is for the assembled package and curated keyword data—not ownership of the underlying icons. Each SVG remains governed by its original source-package license. Best Icons does not replace, restrict, or expand those license rights.

Source-package terms include permissive licenses, Creative Commons licenses, and a custom upstream license. Rights and obligations therefore differ by icon set. Review the complete license manifest and preserve notices or attribution when the applicable terms require it. A promotional credit to Best Icons is not required, but source-license credits may be.

Where a source license permits commercial distribution or sale, you may exercise that right—including in a paid end product or value-added icon collection—provided you meet every condition of that license. CC BY-NC-SA content is excluded from commercial use, and Good Boy License content requires separate permission for commercial redistribution. A Best Icons plan supplies access and commercial workflow features; it does not create new rights in the source artwork.

Trademark, design, personality, and other rights can apply separately, particularly to logos and brand symbols. You are responsible for checking those rights in your intended context.

After full payment, Best Icons grants the purchaser a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license for the purchased package version to use, copy, adapt, and incorporate the curated labels, descriptions, topics, and keyword tiers into the purchaser’s own internal workflows, websites, applications, and client projects.

This license permits commercial use of the metadata as part of a broader product or project. It does not transfer ownership of the dataset, and it does not grant rights in the underlying icons beyond their original open-source licenses.

If an order is expressly identified as a Pro Unlimited order, the order also permits the purchaser to incorporate the curated metadata into value-added commercial applications, end products, icon catalogues, and customer-facing search or API experiences. This additional scope does not permit a claim of ownership or exclusivity over source icons, and all applicable source-license notices, attribution, and redistribution conditions remain in force.

Owner review: confirm that this license scope and the standalone-redistribution limits below match the intended commercial policy before publishing.

Except where a Pro Unlimited order expressly permits a value-added integration, mandatory law applies, or an icon’s source license independently permits it, you may not:

• resell, sublicense, publish, or distribute all or substantially all of the curated keyword dataset as a standalone dataset;
• offer all or substantially all of the raw dataset as a direct download, or operate a substantially identical Best Icons clone whose primary value is unchanged access to the Best Icons curation;
• share private package links or credentials with unauthorised third parties; or
• remove source-license materials from a redistributed icon bundle where required.

These restrictions apply to Best Icons’ curated metadata and protected delivery, not to rights you receive independently under an icon’s source license. A Pro Unlimited order may power a customer-facing product or API when the purchaser adds material product value and follows the scope stated in that order.

If you are a consumer, mandatory rights—including any applicable right of withdrawal for digital content—remain unaffected. Rules can differ depending on your country and on whether you expressly request immediate digital delivery and acknowledge its effect on a withdrawal right.

Where required, the checkout must collect that consent and acknowledgment before immediate delivery. For cancellation, refund, or defective-download questions, contact [support email]. Nothing in these Terms limits a mandatory remedy.

We aim to keep public search and purchased downloads available, but do not promise uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, security incidents, provider outages, legal requirements, or events outside reasonable control may temporarily interrupt access.

We may improve, replace, or discontinue free features. If the service is to close, we will use reasonable efforts to give purchasers an opportunity to retrieve their paid package first, where practicable and lawful.

Statutory warranties for paid digital content remain applicable. Open-source artwork and third-party source information are provided subject to their respective licenses; we do not warrant that a particular icon is suitable for every regulatory, trademark, or accessibility context.

Liability remains unlimited where required by law, including for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, fraudulently concealed defects, guarantees, and mandatory product liability. For a negligent breach of an essential contractual duty, liability may be limited to damage that was foreseeable and typical when the contract was formed, to the extent legally permitted. Mandatory consumer rights are not limited.

You may request account closure by contacting [support or privacy email]. Before closing an account, save the purchased archive and any receipts you need. We may retain transaction records where required by tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal-claims obligations.

We may restrict access where an account is used unlawfully, to compromise security, or in material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

German law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice does not remove mandatory protections of the country where you habitually reside.

Any exclusive place-of-jurisdiction provision applies only where legally permitted, including for merchants and comparable entities. Consumer dispute information appears in the Imprint.

We may update these Terms for future use or purchases when reasonably necessary. The terms presented when you place an order govern that purchase unless a change is required by law or expressly agreed with you.
